Costs and Billing

Oak Grove Midwifery, LLC offers affordable alternatives to typical hospital birth. You can look into current costs of prenatal, birth, postpartum and newborn care by zip code at Fair Health Consumer, where you can enter specific procedures such as “global obstetric”, “newborn hospital admission”, “OB Ultrasound”, -or- you may look up an “episode of care” related to your condition. As of this writing, the complete cost of a hospital based episode of pregnancy care in the 54302 location, ranges from $23,628 in network to $49,088 out of network.

Home birth with OGM will range between $4000-$7500. We are not in any networks, so you will need to consider your in-network and out-of-network deductibles and co-pays when budgeting. Cash pay clients are eligible for discounts. If you wish to have your insurance policy reimburse you for services there are some options. You can pay OGM at the discounted cash-pay rate and submit your invoices after your care is completed. Alternatively, you can hire our billing service to file your claims. A deposit of $3700.00 is due by 36 weeks gestation regardless of whether you will be using insurance or not. All laboratory and ultrasound tests performed by OGM are payable at the time of service. In the event that your insurance covers any or all costs at a later date, you will be reimbursed accordingly by OGM.

We do accept BadgerCare and will bill them directly on your behalf. There are some additional steps that BadgerCare recipients must take in order to have your care with a Licensed Midwife covered. We will discuss these steps at your first consultation. There are certain fees that BadgerCare does not cover and you will be responsible for those fees by 36 weeks gestation. BadgerCare recipients can budget between $750-$1500 out of pocket.
